As we get ready for our Thanksgiving celebration, we want to thank our board members, volunteers, at Children’s Toy and Doll Museum, our friends, and community for their continuous support and volunteerism.
A source of our appreciation and gratitude goes out to The Marietta College Athletics Department's volunteerism and community service initiatives with the collaboration of the Marietta College Baseball Team-The Etta Express, coach Brian Brewer, assistant coaches Chris Tekulve, Matt Valin, and supervised by board member Dr. Mabry O'Donnell, in partnership with the Marietta College Baseball Team-The Etta Express.

It is worth mentioning our museum has been positively been impacted by the recent joint effort between Marietta College Baseball Department and our museum. We gained firsthand insight into volunteerism and service by collaborating with the Marietta College Baseball Team's community service and leadership initiatives on Monday, November 18th. Over the years, the MC baseball team has been providing the museum with services for leaf and landscape cleaning, as well as indoor spring cleaning.
This season, the team's success in clearing the piles and piles of leaves that had accumulated around the museum's property brings pride to everyone involved. Despite not breaking any world sport records, we still saw the work as a significant achievement. The process of raking two truckloads of bagged leaves, in less than two and a half hours, was witnessed by board members Kim Reese, Mabry O'Donnell, Diane Pfile, Marilyn Potash, Carole Hancock, and Andrea Frederick. It's worth mentioning that our museum's landscaping was completed with over thirty-four bags of mulch spread around our flowerbeds. It was evident that the MC Baseball team and their coaches were willing to roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty to accomplish the tasks set before them.
Throughout the afternoon, there was a clear sense of leadership, positive attitudes toward volunteering, and camaraderie. The Children's Toy and Doll Museum would like to express our gratitude to the Marietta College Baseball Team, their coach, and assistant coaches, for leading the way for their ongoing volunteerism and community service.
You can support the Marietta College Baseball Team-The Etta Express by attending their games, tickets may also be purchased online.
