MOV Film to formalize Marietta partnership, plans 2026 crew training (mariettatimes.com) — Marietta is considering a formal partnership with MOV Film that would make the nonprofit the city’s point of contact for visiting film productions, helping with permits and logistics. The group also secured a state grant to host a two-day film crew training in early 2026, aiming to build local jobs and attract more projects to Southeast Ohio.
   

2. Hinkle named head football coach at Marietta College (newsandsentinel.com) — Marietta College has promoted alumnus and longtime assistant Tom Hinkle to head football coach, keeping leadership of the Pioneers’ program in local hands. Hinkle, who lives in Marietta with his family, promises a passionate, disciplined team and emphasizes developing players as students and people while building on recent defensive success and OAC competitiveness.

Vincent man arrested for obtaining, distributing child pornography (wtap.com) — A Washington County man from Vincent has been arrested after deputies say they found evidence he was obtaining and distributing child sexual abuse material, including images of very young children. He’s being held on $50,000 bond after appearing in Marietta Municipal Court, while investigators continue a forensic review of his electronic devices that could lead to additional charges.

The update also details an arrest involving a concealed firearm and current Washington County Jail inmate numbers.

Washington County group hosts forum on injection well threats to drinking water (wtap.com) — Residents packed a Marietta forum Tuesday night to hear experts warn about potential risks Class 2 injection wells may pose to local drinking water.
