• Chemical Bonding: COSI demonstration, donated science kits get a big reaction at Marietta Elementary School (newsandsentinel.com) — Students at Marietta Elementary got an up-close science show Friday as COSI brought liquid nitrogen experiments and free American Innovation Kits to fifth- and sixth-graders. The hands-on demonstrations tie directly into the school’s S.T.E.A.M. curriculum and will give kids at-home projects on rockets, the Statue of Liberty, and more to keep them learning over the holiday break. 
• NMU quartet earn All-Midwest honors in men's soccer (miningjournal.net) — A Northern Michigan University men’s soccer standout from Marietta, Ian Weimer, has earned All-Midwest Region Second Team honors after a breakout sophomore season. Weimer finished second on his team in goals and points, delivering several clutch game-winners during NMU’s historic run to its first GLIAC title and NCAA Division II tournament appearance.
