Number one on the list was another river community, Damariscotta, ME. Also making the list was Welch, WV, Jim Thorpe, PA, Frederick, MD, and Grand Haven, MI. The author said that all 40 of the towns listed were unsung hot spots that might deserve a place on your bucket list. Let's not tell her that Marietta isn't a town, but actually a city, and take the tourism dollars this article hopefully generates.
