• Period of intentional transformation: Marietta College's President Dougherty presents updates (mariettatimes.com) — Marietta College is rolling out a new strategic plan that freezes tuition, fees, and housing for 2026–27 while launching expanded financial aid through the Marietta Promise Award for Pell-eligible students. President Kathleen Poorman Dougherty outlines new academic programs, research centers, and community partnerships aimed at boosting regional development and hands-on learning opportunities for local students.
   

• News 11 Dec 2025 (washingtoncountysheriff.org) — Washington County deputies handled several recent incidents, including a disorderly conduct case headed to Marietta Municipal Court and a vehicle striking the Dollar General in Watertown Township. Several people from Marietta and nearby communities were booked into the Washington County Jail on charges ranging from probation violations and trespassing to drug possession and OVI.
   

• Chamber reviews year, graduates first leadership cohort and presents annual awards (mariettatimes.com) — Business and civic leaders from around the Mid-Ohio Valley gathered in Parkersburg as the regional chamber reviewed its busy 2025, honored award winners, and graduated the first Leadership MOV class. Participants especially enjoyed an arts session that included watercolor lessons at Marietta Makery and tours of local cultural venues, highlighting cross-river ties that Marietta residents may recognize and benefit from.
