Wilcox Sworn In As WSCC Trustee
WSCC Board of Trustees swore in its newest member, Tyler Wilcox, during its scheduled meeting on Monday

MARIETTA, OH — Washington State Community College (WSCC) Board of Trustees swore in its newest member, Tyler Wilcox, during its scheduled meeting on Monday afternoon.

Wilcox was appointed by Governor Mike DeWine. He is the Executive Vice President, Regional President for the South Region of Peoples Bank and joined the business in 2008. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in History from Brigham Young University and his Juris Doctor from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law.

“I am honored to be appointed by Governor DeWine to serve at Washington State Community College,” Wilcox said. “WSCC is one of the pillars of our community, providing education and opportunities throughout our region. Dr. Wood and the educators and administrators at WSCC are helping to build a better future in Southeast Ohio. As someone who lives and works in Marietta, it is exciting to have an opportunity to contribute as a member of the Board of Trustees.”
Prior to leading Peoples' South Region, Wilcox served as President of Peoples Insurance Agency, Director of Human Resources, and Associate Counsel for Peoples. He also served as Assistant City Attorney and Prosecutor for the City of Columbus, Ohio. His career at Peoples has focused on business line leadership, legal compliance, employee relations and benefits, compensation management, mergers and acquisitions, and cultural leadership.
“Tyler is a valuable addition to our Board of Trustees,” said WSCC President Dr Vicky Wood. “We will benefit from his leadership, experience, and passion for improving the community.” She added that the college is “thrilled to have a representative of Peoples Bank serve on our Board. They are a prominent employer in the region and a long-standing supporter of Washington State.”
Wilcox is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association (OSBA), served on the OSBA Labor and Employment Council, and is the Pro Bono Spanish Interpreter for Marietta/Washington County courts.

Wood further commented that “We have a tremendous Board and I’m honored to work alongside of them. Their high caliber leadership has kept us steadfastly focused on the growth of the College while maintaining an overarching vision for improving our local economy and strengthening our community.”
The WSCC Board of Trustees is comprised of electors who reside in Washington or Morgan counties. The current board includes Bernie Anderson, chair; David Vandenberg, vice chair; Jodey L. Altier; Randy Barengo; Daniel Pennock; and Susan Vessels.
