Planting season is quickly approaching!

The Community Gardens at the City of Mentor’s Wildwood Cultural Center, 7645 Little Mountain Road, is again selling community garden plots for the 2022 growing season.

Becoming part of the Community Gardens is excellent for church groups, boy or girls scout groups, and for individuals who live in an area without land for growing a garden.  Registration opens to previous gardeners on March 7th. First-time gardeners who are Mentor residents may register beginning  March 14th and Nonresidents on March 21st.  Plots cost $35, for a 20 x 25 plot.

There are organic and non-organic spaces available.  In the organic space, only organic pesticides and organic insecticides are permitted.  Each gardener is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of their garden plot during the garden season, from April 18th – October 31st.  Planting must commence by June 30th.
