Ohio Connections Academy Recognizes Mentor Student

Nour Fadel of Mentor (Lake County), was recently named one of Ohio Connections Academy’s (OCA) Star Students of the Month for November in recognition of her hard work and leadership in the online classroom.

Nour, a seventh grader at the statewide online public charter school, was nominated by several of her teachers because of the hard work and outstanding participation she demonstrates in the classroom and the support she provides her fellow students.

As a Star Student, Nour will be presented a certificate recognizing her achievement and be profiled in Ohio Connections Academy’s student newsletter and on the school’s social media platforms. Each month during the school year OCA will recognize students in grades K through 12 who are excelling in the virtual classroom.

Nour came to Ohio Connections Academy in 2017 after being homeschooled for most of her academic life. Nour said she enjoys the schedule flexibility that OCA provides as it allows for her to work ahead and at her own pace.

“This school works very well, in fact, I love it,” Nour said. “My favorite subject here in OCA is Educational Technology. It's really fun, and it helps me get more used to the computer I use for school.”
