Here are the top 3 stories today in Tulsa:

  1. The Tulsa County Sheriff's Office is urging residents to be on alert for scammers who are calling people claiming to be deputies and asking for money. Officials say the scammers are telling potential victims that they have a warrant and must pay a bond to avoid arrest. Some people targeted by the scam have lost as much as $3,500, so authorities want to remind the community that this is not how they operate. (News On 6)
  2. Police are investigating following a shooting at an apartment complex on Monday morning. The incident occurred at the Brighton Apartments near East 47th Place, where officers found a victim with a gunshot wound to the thigh and a suspect with non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities are still investigating what led to the shooting. (News On 6)
  3. Volunteers with the Oklahoma Alliance for Animals helped protect pets from frigid temperatures last weekend. Erin Shackelford, Executive Director of the Oklahoma Alliance for Animals, said the group cared for more than 15 unsheltered dogs as temperatures plummeted on Saturday and Sunday. The group is now in need of more dog houses and straw to help provide shelter for the next cold snap. (KOKI FOX 23)
