The University of Tulsa celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month at Pat Case Dining Center with food, music, and student-led activities.

The Latin American Student Association (LASA) partnered with TU Dining for the event. LASA president Omar Carreño welcomed students and offered cultural traditions at a table featuring handmade bracelets, candy, and La Lotería stickers.

The dining hall was decorated for the occasion, and the menu highlighted Latin American flavors. Dishes included Pollo Asado with Arroz Verde, Mojo-Marinated Pork Loin, Roasted Plantains, and Chorizo & Roasted Poblano Pizza. For dessert, students enjoyed Tres Leches Shooters, Mexican Chocolate Brownies, and Churros, served with Fresco de Tres Cítricos.

This program builds on a series of cultural events hosted by TU Dining in partnership with student organizations and the Center for Global Engagement. Earlier this year, TU welcomed the Lunar New Year with traditional cuisine and red envelopes, an event so well received that the Asian American Student Association asked to reuse the décor.

Other highlights have included Feast of Faith, an interfaith gathering with foods tied to Easter, Passover, and Ramadan; a Mardi Gras celebration inspired by New Orleans traditions; and a Soul Food Soirée with the Association of Black Collegiate (ABC).
