Here are the top stories today in Tulsa:

  1. The megacenter near 71st Street and Lewis Avenue closed permanently on Friday after being open for nearly five months. The center was packed throughout the day Friday as people hurried to renew their driver's licenses and get REAL IDs or learner's permits. Tulsans will need to go online or to a tag agency for ID needs going forward. (News On 6)
  2. A jury found Raymond Jordan guilty on Thursday for the murder of 28-year-old Shawn Addison Miller, which occurred in south Tulsa in 2020. The jury has recommended Jordan be sentenced for life with the possibility of parole. Jordan also pleaded guilty to possessing a firearm after a former conviction of a felony and will be sentenced for all counts on Jan. 14. (KOKI FOX 23)
  3. Tulsa County deputies rescued an abandoned puppy from freezing temperatures early Thursday morning. Officers patrolling the area of North Yale Avenue spotted the puppy left in a wire dog cage on the side of the road and brought the dog back to headquarters to stay warm until a local animal shelter opened. The Sheriff’s Office says some of its employees hope to adopt the pup once she’s available. (KTUL)
