Here are the top three stories in Portland today:

  1. The 82nd Avenue of Roses Parade is making its return today, Apr. 29 for the first time in three years. The 17th annual parade will begin on Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m. starting at the Eastport Plaza and will go to Southeast 78th and Yamhill Street. This year's theme is "Roses in the Heart of Portland. (KATU)
  2. Portland General Electric has announced that it will be installing the second-largest clean energy storage project in the United States, which will reduce the need to use power plants that burn fossil fuels. The battery storage installation will generate around 400 MW of power. The largest standalone clean energy project in the U.S. is in Vistra Moss Landing in California, which generates around 400 MW and is expected to add another 350 MW soon. (Fox 12 Oregon)
  3. The FBI announced that it is offering a $25,000 award for any information or tips that will lead them towards arresting a suspect in a shooting that killed 25-year-old Portland mother Adau Duop. Duop was killed on Feb. 20, 2022, when a car pulled up to her family car and fired on her, along with her fiance and her 1-year-old and five-year-old children who were all injured but survived. The FBI and Portland police are encouraging anyone with information to contact the Portland FBI office at (503) 224-4181 or online at tips.fbi.gov. (OregonLive)
