• Suspected space heater fire displaces residents at SW Portland apartments (kptv.com) — Several residents are displaced after an early-morning fire at a southwest Portland apartment complex along Southwest Capitol Highway, likely sparked by something placed too close to a space heater. Portland Fire & Rescue is still determining the official cause, while urging neighbors to keep heaters three feet from anything flammable and avoid extension cords this winter.
   

• Winterhawks rebound to win the Teddy Bear game (oregonlive.com) — Portland Winterhawks fans saw a big rebound as the team shut out the Penticton Vees 4–0 in the Teddy Bear Toss game, easing worries after back-to-back eight-goal drubbings. Goalie Cruz Chase delivered a 37-save shutout, Portland grabbed two power-play goals, and the win nudged the Winterhawks back into fourth place in their conference.
