Here are the top three stories today in Portland:

  1. More than 30 Portland restaurants are participating in this year's ninth annual Dumpling Week. The event began on Jan. 29 and will continue through Feb. 4. It features local businesses showcasing their own variety of dumplings. You can view the full list of participating restaurants here. (KGW.com)
  2. A nonprofit is encouraging the Portland Golf Club to work with the community to preserve a wetland along Fanno Creek Trail that the club plans to dredge. The 110-year-old golf club has had issues with the pond on the site that has caused issues with irrigation and sediment buildup and has also seen algal blooms in recent years. Nonprofit Neighbors for Wetland Preservation says that the project's plan to place sediment bags on the wetland and dredge the pond would destroy the wetland and have both short-term and long-term effects on the trail and the area around it. (KOIN.com)
  3. The average price for a gallon of gas continues to be on the rise. Last week, the average price for gas in Portland rose 7.1 cents a gallon to a price of $3.86 per gallon. Gas prices continued to rise throughout the nation for the fifth week in a row due to ongoing issues with refineries, and experts say that gas prices will likely continue to rise. (KATU)
