Eliot Neighborhood Homicide Monday Night Is Portland's 30th This Year

Portland Police said that a man was found shot at least once Monday night by North Cook Street and Gantenbein Avenue. He died at a hospital.

PORTLAND, OR — Around 10 p.m. on Monday, callers to 911 reported that there had been a shooting in the Eliot Neighborhood. Officers soon arrived by the intersection of North Gantenbein Avenue and North Cook Street where they found a man who had been shot.

While he was rushed to a local hospital, doctors were unable to save him.

The man, whose name has not been released, is Portland's 30th homicide of the year, putting the city ahead of last year's pace when a record 92 homicides were recorded.
