- The Autism Society of Oregon (ASO) hosted its 21st annual Autism Walk to support Autism Awareness Month on Sunday. As the largest autism event in Oregon, hosted at Oaks Park in Southeast Portland, the non-profit brought together hundreds of families to raise awareness. The event included over 40 community-run booths aimed at helping educate and inform families about the resources available to them. (KGW)
- The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife accepted a petition to list the Southern Resident killer whale as endangered. Living off the coast of Oregon, Washington, and California, the Southern Resident killer whale has a population of 73 that has declined due to water pollution, scarcity of prey, and inbreeding. - After 50 years of service, a Northwest Portland grocery store closed its doors Monday afternoon. Food Front, a cooperative grocery store, announced that grim finances caused the store to shutter its doors after nearly 51 years of service. The co-op laid off nearly a third of its staff earlier this month, and directors said there wasn't enough money to restock the inventory. (Subscription: Oregon Live)

- The City of Portland will hold a public forum discussing gunshot detection technology on Apr. 25. ShotSpotter and EAGl will give presentations showing ways that gunshot detection systems can assist police in high-crime areas. (KATU)
- This upcoming week, Portland will see an increase in temperatures. Normally, Portland sees an average of 81 degrees in April, but the city has yet to break 58 degrees this year. However, this week, the city will go from a high of 58 to 81 by Friday. (KOIN)
