How to Give Guide: OHSU Doernbecher Children's Hospital
OHSU Children's division relies on donations from community members to provide children with quality care. Learn how you can give back.

PORTLAND, OR - OHSU Doerbecher Children's Hospital is celebrating 90 years of providing service and care to children in Portland. Learn about these four primary areas of giving below, and choose how you'd best like to help the community.
- Area of Greatest Need is a catch-all donation option. By contributing to OHSU's Area of Greatest Need, your donation will go where it's needed most. This allows OHSU to stay flexible and have funds specifically allocated for re-purposing, depending on where the money is most needed. Donations to OHSU Area of Greatest Need have helped children suffering from seizures, saved new born infants from cardiac arrest and provided practical amenities (like laundry services, for example) to families with children in the hospital. - Research is a crucial part of any well-respected, evolving hospital and OHSU is no exception. The Papé Family Pediatric Research Institute labors to find cures and more advanced treatments to childhood cancer like Sarcoma or Leukemia, brain disorders like cerebral palsy or autism and even gene therapy. Donate to Pediatric Research Institute and help OHSU continue to make strides in the treatment of childhood diseases.
- Endowment Funds are necessary for the continued success of OHSU's children's division. Through endowment donations, OHSU is able to recruit top-notch surgeons and purchase high quality equipment. There are levels of endowment donations, based on how much you are able to contribute. Learn more about endowment fund management, and consider creating a scholarship for an OHSU undergraduate or graduate student, a program director for the hospital, or even a professorship. Support the continued success of OHSU by contributing to an endowment.
- Organize a Community Fundraiser with your friends and family to support research for children's medicine. First, complete a fundraising proposal and submit it OHSU for approval and then you'll be able to place your event on the Doernbecher Foundation calendar. Do you want to help, but not sure how?
