Playworks Pacific Northwest: Keep Portland Playful

Playworks Pacific Northwest hosts its 4th annual 'Keep Portland Playful' fundraising event this November.

PORTLAND, OR- Playworks Pacific Northwest is a nonprofit in the Oregon community leveraging the power of play to transform children’s physical, social and emotional health. It was founded in 1996 by Jill Vialet, when she saw a need to help kids turn recces into a positive and productive time for children.

Its 4th annual 'Keep Portland Playful' is approaching: November 4th is the date. Keep Portland Playful is one of two major fundraisers (the other is a corporate kickball fundraiser) that Playworks hosts to raise funds for the programming it does during the school year supporting more than 16,000 local kids.

"The event is well attended, we usually have around 200 people," said Doran Whipple, Development Director for Playworks Pacific Northwest

Keep Portland Playful is a celebratory event in its nature; including games, hors d'oeuvres and a live and silent auction. The event is in line with the mission of Playworks Pacific Northwest, which is "to improve the health and well-being of children by increasing opportunities for physical activity and safe, meaningful play."
