MAX Train Shooting Sends Man To Hospital, Police Look For Suspect

Police say that what started as a fight turned into gunfire.

PORTLAND, OR — Just before 7 p.m., someone called 911 to report a fight on a MAX train at the Main Street Transit Station. Transit Police officers and officers arrived at the station on Southeast 96th Avenue.

As they pulled up. they were told by dispatch that someone had fired a gun.

They quickly found a man on the floor of the train with a gunshot wound, secured the crime scene, and brought in paramedics to treat the man. They were able to get him to the hospital by ambulance.

Officials say that the man had non-life threatening injuries and should be ok.

Police are still looking for the suspect. They have not yet released a description or more details on what led to the shooting.
