Meals On Wheels People Canceled Portland Area Deliveries 2nd Day
Meals on Wheels People, which serves more than 7,000 people in the Portland area, canceled deliveries for a second day because of weather.

PORTLAND, OR — While there's not a lot of snow on the ground, there is more than ice on the roads to make driving a challenge. Because of this, Meals on Wheels People canceled their deliveries for a second straight day.
"We want to ensure the safety of both our clients and our volunteers," Meals on Wheels People CEO Suzanne Washington said.
The organization says that last fall, they provided shelf-stable meals to each of the more than 7,000 people that they serve every day in the area.

"We will conduct wellness and safety calls to ensure that they are safe and remind them to eat one of the meals we provided," Washington added.
While Meals will make those calls, if you know someone who regularly gets food deliveries from Meals on Wheels People, today would be a good day to check on them as well.
