Morrison Bridge Crash Between Car, Ambulance Shuts Westbound Traffic

A car flipped over after crashing with an ambulance on the Morrison Bridge. The driver, while hospitalized, is expected to be ok.

PORTLAND, OR — A car and ambulance crashed on the Morrison Bridge Wednesday afternoon. While the driver of the car was hospitalized, officials say that the person's injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The crash happened around 1:20 p.m., according to Portland Fire, which added that car crashed into the ambulance and turned over several times.

They said that there were no patients in the ambulance at the time.

Officials said that traffic westbound was shut briefly while the scene was cleared.

As of 5:30 p.m., there was still heavy traffic on the bridge and the roads leading up to it.
