Man fatally struck by driver while stepping out of his car in Portland (kgw.com) — A man was killed Friday afternoon after being hit by a driver who fled while he was stepping out of his car on Northeast Prescott Street in Portland. Police have closed Northeast Prescott between 86th and 88th avenues during the investigation and are asking anyone with information to email the Portland Police Bureau’s tip line with the listed case number.

2. OHSU's contract with Regence set to end Dec. 31 unless new agreement is struck (kgw.com) — If you rely on OHSU or Hillsboro Medical Center with Regence insurance, you could be out-of-network after Dec. 31 unless a new deal is reached, though a 12‑month transition period is promised. Negotiations mirror other last‑minute insurer-hospital standoffs across the Portland region, leaving many local patients watching closely as the deadline nears.

New Mural Painted on Downtown's Washington Center (wweek.com) — A massive new “7 Pillars” mural now wraps Washington Center at SW 4th and Washington, bringing bright, values-driven artwork to a once-troubled corner of downtown Portland. Created by New Zealand-born artist Askew One with help from local painters and city partners, the 20,000-square-foot piece aims to infuse the area with messages of love, empathy, and stewardship while the property awaits redevelopment.

4. Man sentenced for shooting at 2 Portland officers during arrest for deadly robbery (kptv.com) — A 31-year-old man has been sentenced to 20 additional years in prison for shooting at two Portland police officers in 2021, on top of a prior 10-year robbery sentence. The case stems from an armed robbery and fatal shooting at a townhome near Southeast 128th and Stark in Portland, followed by a confrontation where he fired at pursuing officers.
