CHEC: CHEC, along with our partners, will be a regional community education leader recognized for creating programs promoting the systematic pursuit of knowledge by demonstrating how past generations developed and harnessed technologies to transform their world.

Patch: How does your organization help to strengthen the community?

CHEC: Our current public outreach is a traveling 45 minute presentation we give 4th graders using our 170 year old Oregon Trail survivor wagon. The presentation is titled “Life on the Oregon Trail for a kid."
Patch: What is the biggest struggle your organization faces?
CHEC: Finding volunteers. CHEC (Chec-heritage.com) does not have a location. All of our 100+ vehicles are in storage, at APMA (in Brooks, OR) or at Yamhill County Heritage Museum. We are working toward building but are not there yet.
