Patch: Tell Patch a little about your organization!

MVLC: MVLC empowers adults with the literacy skills needed to increase economic stability and overall quality of family life. We provide tutor training for volunteers who teach small groups in the following areas: English conversation, reading and writing for English Language Learners, GED preparation in English or Spanish, preparation for entry level medical careers, computer basics, US Citizenship preparation and workforce literacy skills for employees of local businesses.

MVLC: Research shows that investing in adult literacy programs returns $33 to the economy of the community for every dollar invested. Parents get jobs, pay taxes, their families are able to get off of public assistance, the children perform better in school and have a higher graduation rate.
