Patch: How does your organization help to strengthen the local community?

Oregon Lands at Work: We work diligently to highlight the collaborative action that takes place among farmers, foresters, ranchers and local conservation groups throughout the state. There has been long-held public perception that these groups are at odds and we are finding that's no longer the case. We hope to highlight these stories at the local level that show successful collaborations with mutual benefit that might inspire Oregonians to learn more and know what resources are available to them that might help solve unique land issues they face.

Patch: What is the biggest struggle your organization faces?

Oregon Lands at Work: Awareness: So many landowners are doing such great work with resource planning as a part of their business model, either on their own or in collaboration with local groups like soil and water conservation districts or land trust. All involved are so busy doing the work that they don't always realize the important and inspiring story they have to tell!

Patch: What do you hope for the future of your nonprofit?

Oregon Lands at Work: To be flooded with story opportunities of great work happening throughout the state to share with our fellow Oregonians. And to eventually be able to offer website guidance to various resources for local landowners at the regional level.
