Stephen Hodges of Nerds Abroad helps meet the needs of non profits both domestic and abroad, with zero budget.

Nerds Abroad is a registered, 501 (c) (3) non profit with a goal of helping other non profits with their IT, both domestically and abroad.
The Vision Statement of Nerds Abroad, as their website aptly describes, reads: "Nerds Abroad envisions a future of technology literacy in communities across the globe. We see technology as a catalyst where individuals can build community with their own creativity, capacity and capability as a tools for sustainable long-term self empowerment for a more productive future."
Stephen Hodges, founder and CEO of Nerds Abroad, spoke to Patch about his passion for charity.

"I've just been a geek my entire life," Hodges said, "I saw this need in my own personal travels, I wanted to be the one stop shop for everything IT for nonprofits."
Clearly, the organization's methodology and mindset resonated with a lot of people.

Hodges admits, the success of Nerds Abroad came as a surprise.
"I kinda got over my head, this is huge, and there's a ton of demand," said Hodges.
Demand doesn't override passion, however. Nerds Abroad is on track to grow, and keep growing.
