Northeast Portland Hit and Run Crash Kills Person Crossing Street

A person crossing the street was killed Monday morning by a car that just kept going in Northeast Portland.

PORTLAND, OR — Police want to find the driver whose car hit and killed a person crossing the street in Northeast Portland early Monday. It happened around 5:30 a.m. by Alderwood and Cornfoot Roads.

Arriving officers found the person dead in the street.

The driver had fled.

The Police Bureau's Major Crash Team has taken over the investigation. Alderwood is closed from Cornfoot to 82nd.
