Here are the top three stories today in Portland:
- The Oregon Department of Transportation is expected to introduce Oregon's first highway tolls in a little less than two years. One of the major projects for the new tolls is the Regional Mobility Pricing Project, which will affect I-5 and I-205 in the Portland metro area starting possibly in 2025. (OregonLive)
- Nike sent a proposal to the city requesting to hire off-duty police officers as security for the company's Northeast Portland store. The store has been closed for the last several months due to security concerns for customers and staff. Nike is also requesting the same type of arrangement at the downtown Portland store. - The weather forecast for Valentine's Day in Portland may see record snowfall. According to current weather models, the single-day snowfall may get close to, tie with, or possibly even break the current record for Valentine's Day, which was 2 inches in 1959. (KOIN.com)
