Some Oregon Music Hall Of Fame Theft Material Recovered By Police

Portland Police say that they have recovered at least one signed guitar that was stolen from the Oregon Music Hall of Fame in February.

PORTLAND, OR — At least one signed guitar stolen from the Oregon Music Hall of Fame in February has been recovered, according to Portland Police. Officers were executing a search warrant on the 100 block of Northeast 11th Avenue in Portland.

Officials said that they also recovered other stolen items from the location. They have not yet specified whether the other items from the same group stolen from the museum.

On February 27, a thief or thieves stole more than 70 guitars – many of them signed by famous musicians such as the Monkees and George Clinton – that the Hall of Fame was preparing to auction off as a benefit for their museum.

Last month, Portland Police executed search warrants n Gresham, Fairview, and Damascus and said that they recovered hundreds of items, many of which were music-related. Police said that the total value of those recovered items is more than $100,00o.

  • A Zodiac brand combat rubber raiding craft with special tools and accessories.
  • A Graco Industrial gas airless paint sprayer.
  • Signed posters, photos, and album covers; and
  • More than 30 guitars.

Within hours of Portland Police announcing the seizure, the Oregon Music Hall Fame issued a statement announcing that the guitars "are not ours."

Portland Police have since linked that stolen material to a November 2021 theft from a burglary in Washington County, according to officials. Portland Police have been in contact with the owner of that property as well as with the Washington County Sheriff's Office.

Portland Police executed a second search warrantt on Thursday, searching a home in Boring where they said that they recovered more than $25,000 in stolen Yeti products that had been stolen from a storage unit in southeast Portland belonging to a local marked and production company.

All the warrants served resulted from their investigation that led to the arrest last month of Eric Michael Lamberton, a 40 year old from Portlan, according to police.

So far he s charged with the theft of the one guitar from the Oregon Music Hall of Fame while the investigation into the thefts and the whereabouts of the Hall of Fame merchandise continues.

Lamberton is currently being held at the Multnomah County Detention Center.
