Lee is tasked with rebuilding trust between the mayor’s office, council, and communities like East Portland while helping shape homelessness strategy and a broader strategic plan during his first 90 days.
   

2. Right-wing influencer threatens to sue city of Portland for arrest at ICE facility protest (kgw.com) — A right-wing influencer plans to sue the city of Portland and the Portland Police Bureau for $10 million, claiming his October arrest outside the South Portland ICE facility was unlawful and politically biased. Prosecutors dropped his charge while maintaining police had probable cause, and his attorney now argues the case highlights a broader pattern of unconstitutional policing in Portland.
   

3. Shooting victim in SE Portland was convenience store employee, police say (katu.com) — A convenience store employee was shot and killed Tuesday evening near 3D’s Market in Hazelwood, marking another deadly incident in southeast Portland. Police have not announced any arrests and are asking anyone with information to contact Portland homicide detectives as they continue investigating the case.
   

4. Portland Artists Hold a Round Table on Generative AI 'Machine Nightmares' at Mother Foucault's Bookshop (portlandmercury.com) — Portland artists, writers, and organizers recently packed Mother Foucault’s Bookshop to hash out their fears and frustrations about generative AI. Local creatives criticized AI’s impact on jobs, mental health, and community, while urging Portlanders to organize workplaces, embrace Luddite traditions, and keep showing up for in-person connection instead of retreating into screens.
