Police Investigate Armed Robbery At Plaid Pantry In Portland

Two men, possible teens, allegedly robbed a Plaid Pantry while armed with a handgun and machete Thursday night.

PORTLAND, OR — Two men, possibly teens, robbed a Plaid Pantry in southeast Portland while armed with a handgun and machete Thursday night, according to police. The alleged robbers took cash and tobacco products, police said, noting there were no injuries reported as a result of the robbery.

Portland Police Bureau East Precinct officers were dispatched just before 9:30 p.m. Oct. 25 to an armed robbery at the Plaid Pantry at 10350 S.E. Holgate Blvd.

Two Plaid Pantry clerks told officers two people entered and demanded cash and tobacco products; one was armed with a handgun, the other was armed with a machete, police said. Taking an undisclosed amount of cash and various tobacco products, the suspects fled.

Police reportedly believe the suspects escaped the neighborhood in a light-colored four-door sedan.

The clerks described the suspects as Hispanic males in either their late teens or early 20s. The pair stood around 5-foot-6 or 5-foot-7, and both had skinny to average builds.
