Portland Shooting Downtown Sunday Morning Is 3rd Fatal In 4 Days

PORTLAND, OR —Two women were shot Sunday morning as they walked downtown, according to Portland Police. Both were rushed to hospitals.

One died.

Police said that officers were called to the intersection of Southwest 12th and Southwest Clay Street around 10:15 a.m. There they found the two women. Officers performed CPR and tried to stop the bleeding until paramedics arrived.

The second woman's injures are considered non-life threatening, police said.

One person is in custody, police said. They had not released a name or charges by 7 p.m. Sunday evening.

Police have also not released any additional information about the women.

This was the their fatal shooting downtown in four days.

On Thursday evening, a man was shot and killed by 6th Avenue and Burnside Street. On Friday morning, just about 12 hours later, a man was shot and killed on Naito Parkway by the Burnside Bridge
