Portland Firefighters Battle 3-Alarm Hawthorne Fire, 2 Injured

The building on SE Hawthorne that houses Really Good Stuff, Lounge Lizard, and Riyadh's Lebanese Restaurant was the site of 3-Alarm Fire.

PORTLAND, OR — One firefighters was hospitalized when a smoke explosion blew out a window of the building where he was helping fight a 3-alarm fire on Tuesday afternoon. It happened around noon at Hawthorne and SE 11th.

The building houses Riyahd's Lebanese Restaurant and two vintage shops – Lounge Lizard and Really Good Stuff.

All three businesses were closed at the time. In addition to the firefighter who was injured in the explosion, one other was injured. Both were expected to be treated and released at a local hospital.

At one point, the building's roof collapsed, complicating efforts to fight the fire.
