Portland Homicide: 2022's First Victims ID'd As Uncle, Nephew

Portland Police say that Andre Lashun Foster and his nephew, Quyan Johnell Foster, were shot and killed early Saturday morning.

PORTLAND, OR — Portland's first two homicide victims of 2022 were an uncle and his nephew, police said Monday. The medical examiner said that the deaths of 43-year-old Andre Lashun Foster and 21-year-old Quyan Johnell Foster were homicides.

The two only saw about 90 minutes of the new year before both were shot and killed.

Officers arrived at Northwest 131st Place after being told that shots had been fired. One man was dead, one was rushed to the hospital – the police have not said which was which. The one who was taken to the hospital died there.

A third man was with the Fosters. He was also shot and rushed to the hospital. He survived. Police have not commented on his relationship to the Fosters.

The person or people who pulled the trigger is on the run.
