- Military officials officially confirmed that they deployed fighter jets from Portland to respond to an unidentified flying object over Montana on Sunday. The object was eventually shot down over Lake Huron in the Great Lakes region. It is the most recent of three unidentified flying objects seen over North America this month. (Fox 12 Oregon)
- The City of Portland is currently looking at proposals for gunshot detection companies and organizations to implement in the city in an effort to identify and reduce gun-related violence. Proposal applications closed on Monday, and now the city is expected to review the submitted proposals and announce the ones they have selected as finalists in the next two weeks. (KGW.com)
- The Oregon Zoo will donate $25,000 to four organizations as part of an initiative to improve conservation projects and related education in the state.
