PORTLAND, OR — Across all 50 states, there was an amazing sight on Thursday night/Friday morning – an almost total lunar eclipse that was the longest-lasting one in nearly 600 years.

Make that across 49 states (maybe fewer).

As Oregon has pretty much entered what residents affectionately (not really) call the "rainy season," many Oregonians didn't see it.

The largest part of the eclipse happened almost exactly 3 hours later – at 1:03 a.m.

The eclipse, which covered around 98 percent of the moon, lasted around 25 minutes after the peak.
