Portland Man Charged With Murder While Awaiting Trial On Separate Case
Nathaniel Curtis Freeman was charged with second-degree murder while awaiting trial in another murder case.
PORTLAND, OR — A man awaiting trial on a first-degree murder charge was charged Thursday with a second murder count in connection with the April 24 killing of NyCole Griffin, 30, according to Portland police.
Griffin died at a local hospital after being found with a gunshot wound near the intersection of Southeast Ninth Avenue and Southeast Ash Street, police said.
Nathaniel Curtis Freeman, 33, of Portland, was charged with second-degree murder, felon in possession of a weapon, unlawful use of a weapon and felon in possession of a weapon, according to jail records.

Freeman was already in custody without bail in the Multnomah County Detention Center after being charged on May 10 with first-degree murder in connection with the May 4 killing of Morgan "Max" Victor.
Freeman pleaded not guilty in that case, according to court records.

Victor was found shot to death in an apartment on the 2800 block of Southeast Division Street.
