Portland Man Shot, Killed Friday Was On-Duty Security Guard: Police

PORTLAND, OR — Portland police announced Thursday that the man found shot dead in a car by the south waterfront last week was 22-year-old Sircharles Marc Anthony Jones. Police said that he was on-duty, working as a security guard when he was killed.

Police said that he was found around 3:20 a.m. May 6. Officers had arrived on the 2100 block of South River Parkway after calls to 911 reported that shot had been fired.

Jones was found dead in his car. The state medical examiner ruled the death a homicide by gunshot wound.
