Portland Police Name Driver Who Died In Crash That Sent 6 To Hospital

Portland police said that Andrew Michael Bachman was driving recklessly when the car he was driving struck another car. Bachman died.

PORTLAND, OR — Andrew Michael Bachman 21, of Portland, was driving his car eastbound on N. Columbia Boulevard "in a fast, reckless manner" when he crashed into another car, Portland police said. Bachman died at the scene, according to police.

The incident happened Saturday afternoon. Police released his name on Monday afternoon.

As it approached the intersection of N. Peninsular Avenue, it struck another vehicle head on, police said. The five people, three of whom are children, in that car, were treated and released at a local hospital, according to police.

Bachman had a passenger with him in the car when the crash happened, police said. That person was also treated and released at a nearby hospital, they added.
