Portland Storms Bring Limbs Down, Killing Two, Injuring One
Rain and high winds wrought havoc on the Portland area, bringing down trees and limbs. Two died, one person was hospitalized.

PORTLAND, OR — Two people are dead and one person hospitalized after storms moved through the Portland area. In both instances, trees were damaged and limbs fell.
The first incident happened Northeast Sandy Boulevard and 118th Avenue around 10:45 on Saturday morning. The storm moved in quickly, knocking down a large limb from a tree.

It crashed down on to of two men who had been camping there. One of them was killed and the second was rushed to the hospital. Police called an arborist to the scene who quickly determined that the tree had severely rotted.
The arborist is overseeing the removal of the tree.

About 30 minutes later, the second incident happened.
A teenager was at Thousand Acres Dog Park also known as Sandy River Delta Park in Troutdale. The teen was volunteering, planting trees when a large limb fell.
The teen, whose name has not been released, died at the scene.
