Eastbank Esplanade Shooting Leads To Arrest Of Man On Murder Charge

PORTLAND, OR — A man has been charged in the fatal shooting of a woman Sunday night along the Eastbank Esplanade, according to court records.

Wyatt Storm Belcher, 25, is charged with second-degree murder and unlawful use of a weapon, and is being held at the Multnomah County Detention Center awaiting arraignment, authorities said.

No other details about Belcher, the victim and what might have led to the shooting have been released.

Police said officers from Central Precinct received 911 calls about shots being fired and arrived around 11:45 p.m. at the Esplanade by S.E. Salmon Street, where they found the woman dead.
