TriMet Bus Driver Attacked With Pepper Spray, Person Arrested

Police say that a 30-year-old was arrested.

PORTLAND, OR — A 30-year-old is under arrest, charged with using pepper spray against a TriMet bus driver. The driver was not seriously injured.

The incident happened at 6:45 p.m. on February 1.

The Multnomah County Sheriff's Office made the arrest on Wednesday.

They describe the person arrested as "Joseph Ransom, who goes by the name Mira Freja and uses she/her pronouns."

Ransom is banned from TriMet f0r 90 days and charged with assault, unlawful use of pepper spray and interference with public transportation.

TriMet has been battling against attacks on drivers.

Just last month, they passed a new ordinance making it clear that spitting on TriMet penalties is against the law and carries penalties.
