- U.S. Rep. Bonamici of Oregon is recovering from a Friday night incident where she was hit by a car in Portland. The congresswoman and her husband were crossing the street when a driver turned into them at a low speed and knocked them down. The pair sustained non-life-threatening injuries and are expected to make a full recovery. (Seattle PI)
- Tyler John Chase, 21, was arrested around 5:30 a.m. on Sunday following a burglary in Portland. Chase was burglarizing the ATV dealership on Southeast Foster Street when an employee arrived, spotted him, and called the police. The man was arrested inside the business and had methamphetamine and M30 pills on his person at the time of the arrest. (Fox 12 Oregon)
- A work session held by the Portland School Board last week has led to an "urgent call for change." During the work session, members reviewed data regarding student discipline rates. They found students of color and those with disabilities are being treated differently than their white and non-disabled peers. The data showed that minority groups were given referrals or suspensions disproportionately compared to their peers. (KOIN.com)
