Abington Will Host Its 37th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Remembrance
The program will be virtual this year. Dr. Ala Stanford, founder of The Black Doctors COVID19 Consortium, will present.

ABINGTON, PA —Abington Township will host its 37th Annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Remembrance next week, with this year's program titled "A Conversation with Dr. Ala Stanford," named for this year's presenter.
Unlike in years past, this year's remembrance program will be virtual due to the ongoing global COVID-19 pandemic.
Stanford, a practicing physician for nearly a quarter-century, is the founder of The Black Doctors COVID19 Consortium.

The consortium was formed in response to what it says is the disproportionate number of Black individuals being diagnosed, and dying from, COVID-19 in Philadelphia, and what is says is the lack of swift intervention to help stop the ongoing spread of the disease.
Stanford, who opened the Dr. Ala Stanford Center for Health Equity this past November to continue offering quality healthcare and health education in Philadelphia, will lead this year's memorial remembrance event on Jan. 17 beginning at 12 p.m.
