Abington Middle School Referendum Passes: Unofficial Primary Results
Abington and Rockledge voters approved a special ballot question to build a new middle school at Tuesday's primary election.

ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — Voters in Abington and Rockledge narrowly approved a special ballot question during Tuesday's primary election to build a new middle school.
The ballot question read: Shall debt in the sum of $285,000,000 for the purpose of financing the construction of a new Abington Middle School be authorized to be incurred as debt approved by electors?

- YES — 8,676 Votes
- NO — 8,129 Votes
Results by the Montgomery County Board of Elections are unofficial until they are certified at a later date. The latest vote update came at 2:15 a.m. on Wednesday.

Vote Yes to Invest spoke out in favor of the referendum, citing the multi-year community-driven planning process and the desire to invest in a long-term, cost-effective solution to the challenges facing the existing middle school, which include a lack of accessibility, outdated systems, and overcrowded learning environments.
