Abington Middle School Referendum Primary Election: Unofficial Results
Residents in Abington Township went to the polls on Tuesday to vote for school board candidates and whether to build a new middle school.

ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — Abington and Rockledge residents showed support for building a new middle school in early unofficial voting results in Tuesday's primary election while also casting votes for school board members.

The ballot question reads: Shall debt in the sum of $285,000,000 for the purpose of financing the construction of a new Abington Middle School be authorized to be incurred as debt approved by electors?
With 3,078 ballots cast:

- YES — 2,078 Votes
- NO — 1,777 Votes
Both sides presented arguments for why a new middle school built or whether the current one should be renovated.
Results by the Montgomery County Board of Elections are unofficial until they are certified at a later date.
Besides the special ballot question, residents also voted for seven candidates running for four, four-years terms on the Abington School Board.
