Democrats Appear To Be Leading In The Abington School Board Race

Democrats For Abington School Board seem to be in a significant lead after Tuesday's election, according to unofficial results.

ABINGTON, PA — Democrats for the Abington Township School Board race seem to have soared to victory based on unofficial county results released Wednesday morning.

The results, with 39 out of 39 precincts reporting, showed that Democrats Leah Fesi, Angelique Frazier, Yaasiyn Muhammad and Brian Allen were the top vote getters, with 9,479, 9,361, 8,974 and 9,250 votes respectively.

Allen is an incumbent who appears to have secured reelection while another board incumbent, Jocelyn Jones Pickford, may be on her way out given that she only received 5,251 votes, according to the unofficial result tally.

The other candidates in the race were Republicans Paul Morse, who results show received 5,315 votes; Robert Wolf, who received 4,973 votes; and John Stadvec, III, who received 4,585 votes.

Voters on election day were to choose four candidates for school director.

The above numbers were provided by Montgomery County election officials and represent 100 percent of the in-person votes tallied.

County election officials say there are still outstanding mail-in ballots to be countywide so these numbers may change depending upon that final vote count.
