Blasting Planned For A Month In Abington
Abington Township officials said the work will be performed for underground utilities. Find out where and when below.

ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — Blasting work will be conducted at 711 Fox Chase Road as part of the installation of underground site utilities starting in early June, township officials said Wednesday.
Officials said the activity is not related to the demolition of the existing building.
Blasting will occur sporadically as needed and may not take place every day, officials said.

The overall blasting operations will take about one month to complete, depending on weather and other factors.
In accordance with Pennsylvania blasting regulations, a warning signal will be sounded at least one minute, but no more than two minutes, before each detonation.

Officials said the warning will consist of three horn blasts, each lasting about five seconds. This signal is intended to alert all personnel on site of the upcoming blasts.
