Committee Meetings … and a Parade, This Week in Abington

Lorimer Park will hold a nature scavenger hunt, Tuesday, July 2 at 10 a.m. Families and small groups are invited to join a competitive ecology-based scavenger hunt in the park. Win a prize by being the first to finish with all the required items. The event is free, but registration is required by calling the park. Participants are to meet near the ranger hut.

And … on Thursday, July 4, the Greater Glenside Patriotic Association will hold its Independence Day festivities, starting with a children’s program at 10 a.m. at Cheltenham’s Harry Renninger Memorial Park, followed by the 110th annual parade, which starts at the North Penn VFW on Jenkintown Road and runs through the heart of Glenside. The fireworks display will start at about 9:15 p.m. at the high school.
