Abington Police are alerting residents to beware of crypto investments.
ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — The Abington Township Police Department is warning residents to beware of investment and cryptocurrency scams.
Abington Police said that if someone promises big profits with zero risk — especially online — that it’s probably a scam.
Police said residents should watch for these signs:

- Random “investment managers” calling or sending messages in your DMs
- Celebs offering to multiply your crypto
- Love interests pushing crypto investments
- Impersonators pretending to be legitimate businesses or government agencies
- Fake job offers that ask you to pay upfront or in crypto
Residents should also remember that:
- No real company or government will message you asking for crypto
- Don’t click on suspicious links or respond to unexpected messages
- Never pay a stranger who demands crypto
- You should never pay to get a job
Police said that once a resident sends crypto to a scammer, it’s almost impossible to get it back.
